The support for the roller carriers (2) of a conveyor belt (1) comprises a localised integral protection (5) for the reflex angles. This protects against penetration in the reflex angle (A) and the drive, between the conveyor belt and the rollers' skirt, either by objects or upper members of personnel. In a first variant, the protection consists of a rigid metal part of circular or rectangular section. It's diameter is adapted to the roller diameters prior to its engagement in the reflex corner by the inclination of its support arm. The protection system can alternatively be constituted by a telescopic tube comprising an external cylindrical chamber and an internal sliding tube. This enables it to be adapted to different lengths of roller carriers, i.e. to different widths of conveyor belt.
