<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce and cut off unnecessary power consumption and noise originating from a cooling fan by controlling the operation speed of the cooling fans in stages according to characteristics of a microprocessor chip which operates at different operation frequencies according to a power management mode. SOLUTION: When the power management mode is a normal operation mode, a power management mode detection part 60 inputs a 1st driving signal fds1 corresponding to the fast operation frequency of the microprocessor chip to a driving part 70 and the cooling fan 20 operates fast corresponding to the fast operation frequency. When the power management mode is a standby mode, on the other hand, a 2nd driving signal fds2 of low frequency is delayed by a specific period through a delay part 80 and then inputted to the driving part 70, so that the cooling fan 20 operates at a low speed. Then when the computer system operates in sleep or suspend mode, the cooling fan 20 is stopped from operating a specific delay time later.</p> |
