PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to produce a fixing roller which has a smoothes surface, is free from defects, such as wrinkles, and is producible with good dimensional accuracy and to obtain well fixed images by providing this roller with a fluororubber layer having a specific thickness and a fluororesin sleeve which is disposed thereon, is subjected to an etching treatment on its inner peripheral surface and has a specific thickness. SOLUTION: This fixing roller includes an arbor 1, the fluororubber layer 3 which is disposed directly or via a rubber elastic layer on this arbor 1 and has 10 to 200μm thickness and the fluororesin sleeve 2 which is disposed thereon, is subjected to the etching treatment on its inner peripheral surface and has 20 to 100μm thickness. If the thickness of the fluororubber layer 3 is below 10μm, the traces of polishing of the rubber elastic layer appear on the surface of the fluororesin sleeve 2 and the uniform thickness is hardly obtainable. If the thickness of the fluororesin sleeve 2 is below 20μm, problems arise at the time of manufacture of the fluororesin sleeve 2 and at the time of production of the roll. If the thickness exceeds 100μm, elasticity is poor. |
