<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM switch and a call congestion control method, by which the setting request of connection from the other ATM unit is not affected by the congestion even if congestion occurs by means of the setting request of the multiple connections from a specified ATM unit. SOLUTION: In the ATM switch exchanging an inputted call, the setting request of the received call is kept in a buffer 186. A counter 446 counts the number of the setting requests of the calls, which is set in the buffer 186, at every class. The number of the calls T (x) 444 shows the number of the setting requests of the calls, which is previously decided at every class. A congestion detection processing 410 detects the congestion of the calls where the number of the counter 446 is equal to the number of the number of calls T (x) 444. A message abolishment processing 460 abolishes the setting request of the received call when the setting request of the call received when congestion is detected is the setting request of the call of the glass where the congestion is detected.</p> |
