PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the uniform electrified body electrification processing being free from the electrification unevenness to maintain-execute over a long period under the various environment irrespective of soiling in accordance with the durability aging of a contact electrifying member, in an image forming device adopting the contact electrifying device of an AC bias impressing type, and to allow the output of excellent image being clear of the ground fogging to maintain over the long period under the various environment in the image forming device applying the contact electrification. SOLUTION: When this device executes the electrification of the electrified body 1 by holding the electrification member 2 applied a voltage while held in contact with the electrified body 1, the voltage for applying on the electrifying member 2 is provided with an AC bias component Vac and the DC bias component Vdc, and the AC bias component Vac is allowed so as to periodically repeat on/off. Moreover, the amplitude of the AC bias component Vac is made to become >=0.2kV<=6kV. Furthermore, the frequency fHz of the on/off period of the amplitude of the AC bias component Vac is allowed so as to become 2×V<=(f)<=200×V, corresponding to moving speed Vmm/sec of the electrified body 1.
