PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peeling device for efficiently peeling and removing an undesired sheet from a composite film used for recording an image. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a leading end part peeling device 12 for peeling the leading end part of the compound film 1, and a total peeling device 13 for holding each leading end part of the base sheet 3 and a peeling sheet of the composite film 1 peeled by the device 12 so as to peel off both sheets. The leading end part peeling device 13 is provided with a supporting table 20 equipped with a peeling gap 21 into which the composite film 1 can be inserted in a folded state and an insertion mechanism part 2 equipped with an insertion blade 26 for inserting the leading end part of the composite film 1 carried on to the peeling gap 21 into the peeling gap 21 in the folded state. The total peeling device 13 is provided with a suction cup member 50 for sucking the leading end part of the composite film 1, and the device 13 is provided with a pair of sucking rollers 40 and 40A for feeding out the composite film 1 toward the downstream side with the composite film 1 held therebetween.
