The parts are held in vertical brackets (20). They are transported between stations, where they are degreased, washed, pickled, chrome-plated, painted with spray guns and dried, by a conveyor (10) constructed from at least two parallel rails (11,12) located above each other. The brackets have fasteners (21,22) to enable them to be secured to the rails and which are driven to move the brackets along the conveyor. At least one of the fasteners can be moved in the vertical direction.
