<p>A method of making an article such as an article of sanitary ware from an acrylic material and a backing material, includes the steps of forming the acrylic material into a desired shape, applying to a side of the acrylic material a layer of a bonding material which bonds to the acrylic material and to the backing material at ambient temperatures but which caused delamination of the backing material from the acrylic material at elevated temperatures, and applying to the resulting product the backing material with the layer of the bonding material between the acrylic material and the backing material, so that the backing material adheres to the acrylic material to form the article. The article so formed may easily be subjected to a process of delamination so that the acrylic material may be recovered for recycling.</p> |
