A brake disk unit (1) composed of a flange (2) and of a friction ring disk (3) is disclosed to improve the operation and reduce the cost and weight of a composite brake disk arrangement. The friction ring disk (3) is advantageously secured against rotation in a detachable manner to a combined flange (3) which fulfils several functions at the same time. A special design of the teeth located between the friction ring disk (3) and the flange (2) achieves to a certain extent an elastic union of the friction ring disk (3) to the flange (2) in the circumferential direction, improving the transmission of braking circumferential forces and compensating manufacture tolerances. The union of the friction ring disk (3) to the flange (2), as far as the axial stop surfaces (15, 25) and the centring surfaces (17, 18) are concerned, is also easier to produce.
