The conventional carburettor can use unsuitable materials such as steel and plastics and installed with excessive tolerance. An axial groove is also present and the dimensioning of the bushing is inadequate. By increasing the length of the bearing by 80% and the use of a radial packing ring or O-ring, manufacturing and assembly tolerances can be held tight to a minimum between bushing and throttle valve shaft.
