The device is equipped with a frame (1) consisting of mutually parallel support bars (3a-3d) and support members joining them together and with a cable unit secured to the frame and connected to the flat body. The essence of the invention consists in providing at least three guide units (C1...C4), fastening each cable (5a-5c) to two support bars (3a-3d) of each guide unit - at points separated from each other, in the longitudinal direction, by a distance (X), preferably in the region of the opposite ends of said support bars (3a-3d) - and running the cable (5a-5c) over rotary disks (6a, 6a'; 6b, 6b'; 6c, 6c'; 6d, 6d') or similar means connected to the side of the flat body, e.g. of a platform (2).
