The supply device has a heating system using the engine coolant. The cold engine is started with diesel oil. When the coolant is warmed up, the viscous fuel becomes more fluid in the tank and in the warmed lines. The slide valves (5,6) enable the fuel supply to be switched between normal diesel oil and the viscous fuel. The return flow runs via the leaked oil line into one of the two fuel containers (1,2). The volume of coolant, and thus the temp. of the viscous fuel, is controlled by a regulator (7). Before the engine is switched off, the injection pump (9) is refilled via one of the slide valves (5) with diesel oil.
