Two-part HV power plug-connector with short-circuit bridge in first half

The electrical high voltage (HV) or high-current (power) connector has two main units 12,20. The upper unit is formed with a first 12 and second housing part 11 and between these is sandwiched the contacts. Set into the housing is a short-circuit bridging contact 30 that has the contacts closed when the other half 20 of the connector is not in place. The lower half has a projection 22 of insulating material and the opens the bridging contacts.
