<p>A method of manufacturing a carpet for automobiles, which is composed of an integral combination of a foamed body and a carpet fiber composition and has a three-dimensional shape. The manufacturing method of the invention comprises the steps of directly applying a mixed foaming liquid to a back surface of a carpet fiber composition with a spraying system, placing the carpet fiber composition in a mold, which is composed of an upper mold and a lower mold defining therein a spacing corresponding to a three-dimensional shape of the carpet, with the mixed foaming liquid having undergone gaseous reaction but still in viscous fluidization, carrying out clamping with the upper mold and lower mold, and curing a layer of the foamed body layer formed integrally on the back surface of the carpet fiber composition. Fine particules of the mixed foaming liquid sprayed with a spraying system enter texture of the carpet fiber composition to adhere to fiber surfaces thereof while the adhering mixed foaming liquid is foamed by the gaseous reaction to expand, so that they remain at shallow portions inside the carpet fiber composition to foam without substantially permeating the composition deeper, whereby the foamed body unites with the carpet.</p> |
