Sharpener for blades on knives and scissors

The device has a mounting (1) to hold a hard metal tool for sharpening the blades on cutting equipment. The tool has a cutting plate (7) which can be mass produced and which can also be used for another purpose, such as milling. The plate can be fixed into a receptacle (3) on one end of the mounting, which is in the form of an ergonomic handle. A protective lip (6) is arranged between the tool and the handle. The plate may be secured to the handle using a screw, and this may pass through a hole (8) in the centre of the plate. The latter may have radial symmetry, and may be in the form of a rhombus, rectangle, square, or triangle.
