This invention is an animal restraint (10) having two similar halves, each half having an arcuate shaped cage portion (11, 12) and a flat elongated base (16, 17) for attachment thereto. Each cage portion (11, 12) includes generally parabolically shaped ribs (21a-21f, 31a-31f) of differing heights wherein the shortest rib (21a, 31a) is located at a distal end of the cage and the tallest rib (21f, 31f) is located medially. Each rib (21a-21f, 31a-31f) is attached, respectively, at each of its ends, to a base frame (18, 28). A pair of arcuate strengthening members (22, 24, 32, 34) is attached to the base frame (18, 28), and in turn to each one of the parabolic ribs (21a-21f, 31a-31f). The strengthening members (22, 24) of one half (12) of the cage each end medially in a sleeve (35, 36) for receiving its corresponding strengthening member (32, 34) on the other cage half (11), thereby reversibly joining the two cage halves (11, 12). A pair of rectangular plates (16, 17) are reversibly held adjacent one another to form the elongated base (18, 28) which, in turn, is reversibly attached to the joined cage portions (12, 11).
