PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a purifying/deodorizing bar capable of executing a purification and/or deodorization of water. SOLUTION: In the purifying/deodorizing bar 1, a granular (0.03-2.3mm grain sizeϕ) silicon (Si or SiOx (0<x<=2)) 12 is enclosed in a glass tube 11 having 3mm diameter and 3cm length. One end of the glass tube 11 is processed in almost conical (conical part 11a) and the other end is processed in planar (planar part 11b). The silicon 12 is previously converted to a negative ion by being charged in a negatively ionized quartz crucible for a prescribed time (about 5min).
