PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To demonstrate the excellent durability even in the use of multiple continuous casting by forming a porous calcia layer or magcalcia layer on an inner surface of a nozzle for continuous casting to prevent adhesion of non- metallic inclusions such as alumina. SOLUTION: In a nozzle for continuous casting such as a long nozzle or submerged nozzle to be used in continuously casting steel, a porous calcia layer or magcalcia layer is formed on an inner surface in contact with the molten steel. In the case of the magcalcia layer, 30wt.% CaO is contained for example. Its outer side is not specified, and the conventional material can be used without any modification, and any material of alumina carbon, zirconia carbon, or non-carbon may be acceptable. The apparent porosity of the layer containing CaO of the inner surface of the nozzle is preferably 30∼70%. The thickness of the layer containing CaO of 1/1-1/2 of the thickness of the whole nozzle is appropriate.
