PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying hydrogen peroxide solution, capable of simply, safely, practically and simultaneously removing metal impurities and anions from the crude hydrogen peroxide solution in a high efficiency by bringing the crude hydrogen peroxide solution into contact with a specific strong basic anion exchange resin. SOLUTION: Since an OH type strong basic anion exchange resin vigorously decomposes hydrogen peroxide and is thereby danger, the functional groups of the resin must be treated with a bicarbonate salt, and the application of the flow of the hydrogen peroxide solution must be performed at an extremely low temperature. Thereby, the purification of the hydrogen peroxide solution is carried out by a two step treatment method comprising bringing the hydrogen peroxide solution into contact with an H type strong basic cation exchange resin having sulfonyl groups and subsequently bringing the treated hydrogen peroxide solution into contact with a chelate-absorbed strong basic anion exchange resin or by an one step purification method comprising bringing the hydrogen peroxide solution into contact with the mixture bed of both the resins. The chelate-absorbed strong basic anion exchange resin is especially preferably an ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid adduct, and a chelating agent having three or more groups comprising carboxyl groups or sulfonyl groups in the molecule is preferable. The purification treatment is preferably carried out by a method where a 1-40% hydrogen peroxide solution is flowed through a resin-charged column by an one-through style. |
