PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a filer cloth for air bags, high in cover factor, low in variability in air permeability along the whole face of woven fabric, excellent in uniformity, by heat-setting a specific gray cloth under prescribed conditions. SOLUTION: A gray cloth of a filter cloth for air bags comprising a polyester filament yarn having 1.0-2.5 de fineness of removed single yarn is passed through a roll setting process composed of a multiple metal roll setting machine having a metal roll group having 130-230 deg.C substantial surface temperature and subjected to setting processing. The gray cloth is passed through a tenter setting process, subjected to thermally shrinking setting process at a temperature within <=20 deg.C difference from the substantial surface temperature and in 10-40% increase ratio of weight of the gray cloth by maintaining the surface temperature of the gray cloth at 110-230 deg.C to give the objective filter cloth for air bags, having 10-150L/dm<2> /minute air permeability under <=500Pa pressure difference, 180-230kg/3cm tensile tenacity of woven fabric and 20-40% elongation at break. |
