<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the number of revolutions from exceeding a given value set according to valve lift characteristics even when the number of revolutions of an engine is rapidly increased occasioned by a gear shift. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 100 comprises a variable valve system mechanism 1 to change a valve working angle; and an automatic transmission 101. When a shift command signal is outputted, from a car speed detected by a car speed sensor 109 before execution of a gear shift and a change gear ratio in which a gear shift is about to be hereafter effected, the number of revolutions right after a gear shift is estimated. The number of revolutions is previously corrected to valve lift characteristics proper to the estimated number of revolutions so that the estimated number of revolutions is prevented from exceeding the given number of revolutions set according to respective working angles. After it is detected by a potentiometer that correction is actually executed, a gear shift is executed.</p> |
