PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant restraint device of which the length of a restraint stroke is the same as that of a conventional restraint device, but the size is smaller. SOLUTION: This occupant restraint device is provided with a belt pretension device 3 displacing a belt connection element 13 through a tension transmission element 11 in the case of collision, and a tubular barrel 9 surrounding the tension transmission element 11 in the territory outside the belt pretension device and being plastically deformed by a stationary counter side part in operating the belt pretension device 3. The partner side part is designed into a guide 27, the tubular barrel 9 is penetrated therein, and hence it is bent at operating the belt pretension device 3. The tubular barrel 9 is desired to be made of aluminum or the other light metal. |
