PHENOLIC RESIN COMPOSITION AND PELLETIZATION OF PHENOLIC RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phenolic resin composition capable of giving a high rotation rupture strength with a small compounding amount of glass fibers and capable of being processed into pellets high in bulk density. SOLUTION: This phenolic resin composition comprises a phenolic resin and glass fibers treated with a phenolic resin sizing agent and a coupling agent in an amount of 0.5-2.5wt.% based on the glass fibers. The binding strength of the glass fibers to the phenolic resin matrix can be enlarged to enhance the reinforcing effect with the glass fibers, and the compounding amount of the glass fibers can be reduced.
