PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to interrupt opening or closing action of a window glass by securely determining if a foreign object is caught. SOLUTION: A revolution sensor 29 produces pulses of a cycle corresponding to a motor speed. Load change amount calculation means 32 calculats a load on the motor from the pulse cycle, and calculates the amount of change in the motor load with time. A summing section 34 sums up the motor load change amount at every time interval and also calculates an increased amount of the motor load relative to a normal amount. A determination section 36 determines that a foreign object is caught when the increased amount exceeds a specified amount.
