A positionable pool cover for the functions of sport, safety, protection, privacy, insolation and insulation which has at least one useable panel surface for some of these functions is disclosed. These when placed on the water are hydraulically supported just as a piston in a cylinder of incompressible fluid is positioned. Support is also provided by cope rolls which help position panels and by a flex cover. The shape of the rotatable rolls allows the coping, the rolls, and the panels to form a flush, level pool top surface for sports, reduced maintenance, and safety. Also the shape allows a cam-like holding and squeezing action on the panels which also helps sealing as well as positioning. Panels may be manually or automatically positioned to and from storage, over the pool and set back as game walls. The flex cover also helps seal for hydraulic effect and also allows solar insolation and insulation. While one of the panel surfaces may be durable and textured as a sports surface another can receive solar heat and whether or not fluid for heat transfer is flowing and the panel also provides insulation to increase efficiency and lengthen seasonal usage. |
