PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce treating unevenness in a weight reducing process of polyester fabric by inverting obverse and reverse of the polyester fabric on a conveyor and capable of steeply increasing a treating speed in the weight reducing method of polyester fabric by treating with a steam while mounting polyester fabric impregnated with caustic soda on a conveyor running in a steaming chamber and conveying. SOLUTION: Polyester fabric F impregnated with an aqueous solution of caustic soda S is laid on plural stages of conveyors 29 to 32 from upper to lower in turn in a steaming chamber 20 and the fabric F is treated with a steam while longitudinally reciprocating and inverting obverse and reverse of the polyester fabric F according to transferring the polyester fabric F from an upper conveyor 29 to lower conveyors in turn, then delivered to the outside of the steaming chamber 20 from the lowest conveyor 32. |
