RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition having improved gas barrier properties, as it holds excellent transparency and resistance to chemicals, by mixing polyethylene terephthalate with a xylylene group-bearing polyamide. SOLUTION: A mixture of 70-98wt.% of polyethylene terephthalate and 30-2wt.% of a xylylene group-bearing polyamide is melt-kneaded to give the objective resin composition wherein the concentration of the terminal amino groups (a) (μequivalent/g) and that of the terminal carboxyl group (b) (μequivalent/g) of the xylylene group-bearing polyamide satisfy both of the following conditions (1) and (2) before the melt kneading: (1) 50<=a-b<=300 and (2) a+b<=300.
