PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for a cooking range hood having high oil collecting efficiency, high oil decomposing performance and less in contamination caused by brown color at the time of oil decomposition. SOLUTION: This oil collecting filter is produced by carrying a colored oxide such as MnO, Mn2 O3 , Mn3 O4 ,γ-MnO2 together with TiO2 on a nonwoven fabric formed by bonding a glass fiber with an inorganic binder. The total density of the nonwoven fabric and the colored oxide is preferably defined as 20-250g/m<2> and the total carrying quantity of TiO2 and the colored oxide is preferably defined as 1-200g/m<2> . The inorganic nonwoven fabric is formed by bonding the thin sheet like glass fiber with the inorganic binder, then heating it at 100-700 deg.C, is dipped into a dispersion compose of the colored oxide, TiO2 and a dispersant or into a sol gel bath forming muliple oxide of TiO2 and the colored oxide after heat treating and is heated at 300-700 deg.C to produce the objective filter. |
