PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of a stick-slip noise, by orientating and embedding short fiber in a belt flat surface and in a vertical direction at the rib end of a V-ribbed belt, projecting a part of the short fiber from a rib bottom surface, and also orientating and embedding the short fiber in a direction approximately perpendicular to a belt longitudinal direction in the remaining rib main body. SOLUTION: In a V-ribbed belt 1, a tensile body 2 formed of a rope having low ductility and high strength, is embedded in a bonded rubber layer 3, and a sail cloth 4 with rubber is laminated and stuck bias on the upper surface of this bonded rubber layer 3. A plurality of V-shaped ribs 5 is formed in parallel with a belt longitudinal direction on the lower surface of the bonded rubber layer 3. In this case, a short fiber 7 formed of a synthetic fiber and the like is embedded in a rib end 6 while keeping orientation to a belt flat surface and a vertical direction. While, a homogeneous short fiber 9 is embedded in the remaining rib main body 8 except for the rib end 6 having orientation approximately perpendicular to the belt longitudinal direction. At this time, the height of the rib end 6 is set in a range of from 10 to 30% at the height of the whole rib. |
