PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively obtain high-purity urazole (salt) by reaction using readily available raw materials under mild conditions and in a single step. SOLUTION: This compound, urazole (salt) of formula II, is obtained by making (B) at least one kind of compound selected from alkali (alkaline earth) metals and their alcoholates act on (A) a carbamoyl hydrazocarboxylic ester of formula I (R is a 1-6C alkyl, aryl or aralkyl) in a lower alcohol. The component A can be prepared easily, for example, by reaction of semicarbazide hydrochloride of the formula NH2 CONHNH2 .HCl with a chloroformic ester of the formula ClCOOR. By this method, the objective compound can be obtained in nearly 100% yield. |
