FIELD: production of building materials; ceramic bricks for use in heat generating plants operated with sulphur-containing fuels. SUBSTANCE: feedstock material is subjected to drying in drying drum by spraying material into heat carrier flow injected into drum at temperature 800-1000 C. Simultaneously, alkali-containing effluents resulting from caprolactam production are also injected into drum and come to contact with feedstock material as it is being dried in form of layered curtain periodically falling from drum top. Crude ceramic mass thus- produced is finally subjected to shaping, drying and roasting. EFFECT: 1) good-quality ceramic bricks for use in heavy-duty jobs; 2) utilization of environmentally harmful effluents from caprolactam production. 1 tblo
