The flexible textile support is composed of two layers, between which the seedling is held, as in a sandwich. The textile layers are formed from non woven viscose fibres, with a mass to surface area ratio of between 10 and 100 gram per square metre, with a preference for a ratio of between 20 and 50. The two layers may be identical to each other or they may be different, for example good results have been obtained with one layer less than 33 gram per square metre and the other with a value greater than 31. The material of the two layers may also be impregnated with other products to help the development of the seedlings. |
