The invention discloses a lift driving device comprising a cage integral with a frame (16, 18) co-operating with vertical guiding means (12, 14). It comprises a mobile horizontal crosspiece (20) independent of the frame co-operating with the vertical guiding means (12, 14), a cylinder comprising a body (24) and a rod (26) with vertical displacement, the cylinder body being integral with the frame (16, 18) and the cylinder rod end (26a) being integral with the mobile crosspiece, a first and a second set of pulleys (32, 34) mounted free on horizontal shafts (56, 60) integral with the mobile crosspiece and the frame respectively and a cable (36) passing over the said pulley sets to constitute a pulley block, a first end (40) of the said cable being integral with the upper end of the lift shaft and the other end (38) thereof is integral with one of the said two elements.
