The inflation control has a first energy converter piston-cylinder assembly (22) which receives air under pressure and transmits the energy variations in the air to the converter (6). A second piston-cylinder assembly (23) receives the transferred energy and conveys more highly pressurised air to the tyre. A hose (2) connects the tyre (1) to the first assembly. A second hose (11) connects the second assembly to the tyre directly via a branch (15). A further hose (18) connects the second assembly to the tyre and via one of the other hoses connected directly to the tyre without passing one of the valves (10,19).
