The command transmission system has transmitters and receivers (1,1a,1b,1c) using modulated infrared or VHF radio signals, linked to units in different locations that control carrier currents in the power supply cabling. Each item of equipment to be controlled has an electronic decoder and synchronisation circuit to process the received signals. A file of commands can be generated from a computer or a games controller, and the file is stored in memory for transmission. The decoding logic ensures only the selected device responds. A local microprocessor elaborates the commands and controls operation of the equipment in response to the command.
