The suction unit (3) is mounted above the collection vehicle's (2) tailgate (1). This is top-hinged (6) on a tipping (4) bin body for easy discharge. The bin cover (5) is ventilated to prevent back-pressure. The centrifugal fan (9,10) runs on a horizontal axis (11) with a central connection (12) to a flexible pick-up hose (13) and nozzle (15), and a tangential delivery tube (14). The axis of the latter is preferably horizontal; if inclined upward, the angle does not exceed 30 degrees.
