Circular loom and knitter yarn feed

A yarn feed mechanism, for a circular knitter or circular loom, comprises a mounting (2) and holder (1) with a yarn delivery drum (10) rotating at the holder (1) to carry the yarn with a friction grip. The drum (10) is coupled to a drive. Fixed yarn guides (17,18) at the holder (1) are on both sides of the rotary axis (19) of the yarn delivery drum (10), at the yarn entry and exit sides. Moving yarn guides (33), set according to the yarn tension, are near the peripheral surface (22) of the drum (10), for the yarn (48) entering and leaving it. They move across the drum (10) axis (19), between two end limit settings. At the second end setting, the guide (33) is under elastic tension, for the yarn to pull it towards the first end setting. In the first end setting of the guide (33), the yarn (48) passes round the drum (10) surface (22) in a maximum winding zone and, in the second guide setting, the yarn (48) is held clear of the drum (10) surface (22). The yarn (48) path leads directly from the fixed guides (17,18) to the moving guide (33) and then back to the other fixed guide (17,18).
