The barrow has a chassis (10) with hand grips (11), two rear wheels (13), and a carrier blade (12). At least one roller (16), with a smaller diameter than the wheels, sits between the chassis and the wheel axle, and below the axle. When the carrier blade is placed on the ground, the roller also contacts the ground. The roller may consist of a single roller or two wheels, and has solid rubber tyres. When the carrier blade rests on the ground, the wheels are preferably between 20 and 50 mm from the ground. The wheels may have a diameter between 200 and 260 mm, and the roller may have a diameter between 80 and 100 mm.
