A truck cover system (10) is mounted on a truck (12) having an upwardly open container (21) and a support structure (14). The system (10) is securable to the support structure (14) and capable of drawing a flexible cover (16) over the container (21). The system (10) includes a pair of nonlinear arms (26), movable in unison from a first position to a second position. Each arm (26) includes an elongate base member (32) slidably engaged with an elongate extension member (34). Each extension member (34) has a first elongate portion (36) disposed at an obtuse angle with respect to a second elongate portion (38). Each second elongate portion (38) is substantially parallel, noncoaxial, and in slidable engagement with the respective base member (32). The first elongate portions (36) are secured to the first end (18) of the flexible cover (16). First and second actuators (40, 42) associated with each of the nonlinear arms (26) move the arms (26) from the first position to the second position.
