Pressure force measurement method

The method involves using a force measuring cell and a pulse-echo measuring process, whereby an ultrasound test head (1) is put on a sound inlet surface (6) of an axial burdened ring-shaped spring body (2). The test head introduces a transversal wave (7) in the spring body, which oscillates in direction of the load, and which is reflected from a surface area (4) of the spring body. The reflected wave is input as echo by a receiver, whereupon a pressure force is calculated from the received values of the run-time and/or the amplitude, and the known values of the spring body which was calibrated in a pressure test machine. The transversal wave is preferably introduced vertically to the sound inlet surface.
