Formwork panels supported by a rectangular grid of supports are connected edge to edge by pairs of clamps which lock together the two supports which form the joint between them. The two clamps forming a pair are made of sheet metal bent into a U-shape forming locking arms with noses which are undercut to lock against sloping surfaces inside recesses in the supports. The clamps have serrations which interlock, and then retained by a wedge inserted through side openings. The sloping surfaces slope at an angle so that the component of the clamping force which is at right angles to them intersect the sloping surfaces on the supports remote from the panel surface. The clamps can also secure panels at right angles.
