The device (1) has a transport system (5) enabling the horizontal shifting of a number of transport units (6) containing the exhibits. The transport system has at least two storage sections (4) in which the transport units can be moved in the direction of their order. The storage sections are joined via front and rear connectors (8) so that the units can be transported transversely from one storage section to another and into a presentation position.
