The system conducts commerce over large public networks, such as the Internet. The system includes a money processor server (4) with a bank or credit card processor (5); a merchant manager (12); a unit for customer (2); a merchant's storefront unit (3); and, a local storefront database. The system also includes a master key server (1), which acts as a secure communication router.
