The invention concerns a cutting tool for glass fibre rovings, the cutting tool comprising two rollers (1, 3) which can be driven in opposite senses at the same peripheral speed. At least one of the rollers (1) comprises at least one cutting blade (2) disposed on an axially parallel generating line, and the rollers (1, 3) almost contact each other in a generating line lying in the plane delimited by the roller axes. The cutting tool further comprises an arrangement (4, 5) for introducing a roving (6) between the rollers. The cutting tool is characterized in that the peripheral spacing between the blades on the roller can be varied at the roving-introduction point.
