<p>A radial cut profile is achieved while advancing a workpiece (12) at a substantially constant rate in a direction towards a cutting blade (14) by moving the workpiece (12) vertically relative to the blade (14) in synchronization with the oscillation of the workpiece (12). The vertical movement is provided by a linkage including two links (118, 119) pivotally connected to each other. The other end of one link (118) is pivotally connected to the feed mechanism (106).
