Electronic balance with parallel linkage guide and strain gauge corner load sensor

The balance has a weighing pan (3) vertically movably connected to a system carrier (1) via a parallel guide consisting of upper (4) and lower (5) linkages. Two or more strain gauges (15) mounted near the housing ends of the linkage measure the horizontal forces in the linkages caused by the torque transferred from the pan to the parallel guide. The weight value is corrected electronically according to the strain gauge output and stored corner load correction factors. At least one linkage is supported at its housing end on an intermediate piece (18) connected to the system carrier via at least one thin, approximately vertical strut (13) and a thin horizontal strut (14) carrying at least one strain gauge.
