The invention relates to a process for crushing, dispersing, homogenising, de-agglomeration and/or mixing of free-flowing material, said material (1) being subjected almost exclusively to expansion forces within a flow. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out said process, the device designated as a slotted mill (12) having at least one inlet (5) for the material (1) to be treated, at least one restriction point (2) and at least one outlet (6) for the treated material (7), the material (1, 7) being conveyed by at least one pump (4).
