The operating system has a flow system and biological and or mechanical filters for cleaning the circulated water. The mechanical filters have a filter surface (208,218,403,406) which is movable for regenerating between a filter arrangement (204,210,219,221,402,405) and at least one cleaner (213,224,216,407). The filter in the form of a band filter (208,218) runs over deflector elements (206,207;219,220) in the form of a preferably rubber-coated and three-part drive roller (206). The filter band (208) is pressed by a pressure roller (209) against the drive roller. The return side of the filter surface has a preferably non-rotary tensioning cylinder (217).
