Universal pressure measurement flange for HP hydraulic systems

A universal measurement flange(12) for facilitating pressure measurements on high pressure hydraulic systems is formed from flat plate having a laser/flame cut profile which is shaped to fit between the retaining studs (not shown) in the holes (3 to 6) or (3' to 6') of the respective standard flanges for 6000 and 3000 psi systems. The flange(12) is approximately square with a central bore(13) and opposite corners are radiused which together with the recessed faces(20,21) provide a self-centring feature in conjunction with the outer surfaces of the studs (not shown). On tightening the studs the flange(12) is trapped between the flange(1) or (2) and a matching surface (not shown) to enable pressure monitoring via the adaptor(25) and tube(11).
