Appts. for cleaning fat-coated kitchen air exhaust ductwork. The appts. connects to the closed ductwork volume and includes a casing (10) contg. one vessel (12) for water and another (14) for cleaning medium. These fluids are transferred individually to a heater (22) by dosing pumps (16, 20). Here they evaporate and mix, leaving via a line (24) transferring the mixture, essentially without pressurisation. Thus steam and vapourised fat-releasing medium reach the volume, and may be delivered continuously, or intermittently over a longer interval.
